The Space stage uses a steel truss system to produce clear span arches. The use of different truss lengths gives many depth options. The weather protection is achieved with sheets fixed between the arches, on a floating extrusion, making them easier to fit and tension. The load-bearing cantilever at the front increases the weather protection without reducing sight-lines. The stage base is constructed with an integrated shoring and decking system. This allows the stage to be constructed at any height, over most terrain, further increasing the flexibility of the space system.
The Space Stage will have to be considered if large set-up and performance areas are needed. Sight-lines are the other main reason for a stage this size. The massive cantilever gives enough weather protection and rigging points, so that the performer can use the whole of the stage front and still be the centre of attention. Typical size combinations are 28m x 21.6m, 28m x 30m.
