Space Roof

The Space stage uses a steel truss system to produce clear span arches. The use of different truss lengths gives many depth options. The weather protection is achieved with sheets fixed between the arches, on a floating extrusion, making them easier to fit and tension. The D-end gives maximum usage of the rear of the stage. The load-bearing cantilever at the front increases the weather protection without reducing sight-lines The stage base is constructed with an integrated shoring and decking system. This allows the stage to be constructed at any height, over most terrain, further increasing the flexibility of the space system.

The Space Stage will have to be considered if large set-up and performance areas are needed. Sight-lines are the other main reason for a stage this size. The massive cantilever gives enough weather protection and rigging points, so that the performer can use the whole of the stage front and still be the centre of attention. Typical size combinations are 28m x 21.6m, 28m x 30m.

Space TV. Many large concerts are now videotaped for broadcast or live replay on site. The space stage gives room for multiple cameras on stage, tracked and craned position in front of the stage, without getting in the way of the audience or each other. The only time the stage need be in shot is when the director wants it to be.

Space doubled? Need to combine 140 piece orchestra and choir with major rock or solo acts and quick changes? The space mezzanine gives a second level for the orchestra to be set up on, while the 4.8m spans give ample set up room for rolling risers, etc., for those quick changes beloved of audiences and live TV.
